Who needs cinema, Broadway, concerts or ballet when you have some of the best performances happening every day with COVID theater? It has a complex story line with many twists and turns. What started out as a mystery has turned into an absurd comedy. Let’s explore the many comedic elements:
Star performances have been delivered by many politicians. Best acting in comedy performances have been delivered by:
Chicago Mayor Lightfoot dressing up and dancing around for Halloween as bleach.
New York Mayor De Blasio’s music video putting on a mask is great slapstick. Especially as the NY police round up and arrest Jews for trying to have a religious ceremony.
California Governor Newsome telling everyone with a straight face to reapply their masks after each bite while eating – genius!
Michigan Governor Whitmer laughing in the face of the Michigan Supreme Court as they strike down her draconian restrictions. And then adding more – bold!
New York Governor Cuomo writing a book on leadership during COVID as he led the largest death rate of any state during the pandemic. Just check out his performance with nursing homes.
We can’t forget all the wonderful storylines and performances from the supporting actors:
Social media companies picking and choosing the storylines they will allow on their platforms. Doctors and medical experts that go against the prevailing “wisdom” are not allowed to be part of the conversation – hilarious!
Media having major meltdowns about President Trump driving around waving in his limo and returning to the White House without a mask on his balcony. All while tens of thousands protest and riot without hardly a mention of COVID safety.
The politicians, actors, and media stars that preach strict lockdown measures for everyone except themselves. “Do as I say, not as I do,” comes to mind. The wise among us know: “You are what you do not what you say you will do.”
The little social warriors that feel it is ok to get in their fellow citizens face when they see them not following the “rules”. These are the same people that wear a mask while driving alone, riding a bike, hiking in the woods and having sex.
Unfortunately, the show is getting a bit long for many of us. It has lost its way and while it goes on, the audience is no longer laughing. This comedy is quickly turning into a tragedy. Lost jobs, ruined economies, and the breakdown of families is no laughing matter.
We suspect the show will come to an abrupt end on November 4, 2020.
